IPC Project
In this IPC project, students build a mobile to learn how a lever will balance when the moment of force for each side is equal. If the weights of the objects are not equal then the weight times the distance to the fulcrum on the left side will equal the weight times the distance on the right side. Students create a sketch of their mobile with the distances to the fulcrum and the forces of the objects and the wooden dowels. They then use Excel to make a table of their final data. Examples are given below as well as some of their finished products.
