CLASSROOM MATH CAN BE FUN USING  INTERACTIVE SOFTWARES : “GEOSKETHCHPAD,  EXCEL, POWER POINT,  AND WORD”

Students enrolled in  Math 87, Algebra 1, and Geometry are being challenged and having fun with multi-interactive tools.  Availability of computers in a classroom is a big plus or a nearby computer lab would be ideal.

A key software is the use of Geosketchpad, a multi-math software.  This software incorporates the fundamental drawing tools and key math templates that illustrate and aide in creating challenging math student practices.  The students then create and paste to Power Point, Excel and Word, vice versa.   The interdisciplinary of softwares  has proven to be a rewarding experience for both the students and teachers.

Students use the software into a daily basis for both independent and extend practices.  This setting has allowed the students to stay focused and engaged in interactive learning. This method and its use of the multi-software tools have been very useful on Saturday’s tutoring.  It allows the students to catch up on their work and relearn key concepts.
