KEYS Newsletter
The Eagle Eye
Mrs. Elva Chamberlain
English teacher and KEYS Newsletter Sponsor
KEYS Newsletter, The Eagle Eye certainly qualifies as one of my best practices. Since its inception in August, 2000, student volunteers have been editors/designers, reporters, photographers, photo-impact consultants, and technology consultants. It has been and remains a learning experience for all of us. We have learned Microsoft Publisher together. Students who help with any newsletter have an opportunity to replace an assignment in their respective course packets or get extra credit wherever they may need it. We publish school news, special events, community service projects, and recognize new personnel and guest speakers. We also publish students’ poems/short essays, comments, art work, and whatever topics we deem newsworthy. Reporting the news and meeting deadlines is a bit stressful, but somehow, we manage to produce exceptional newsletters. Most importantly, we have fun!
We must first obtain release
forms from students who are not of age from their parents so that their names,
pictures, and work may be published on the web. Hope you enjoy our KEYS Newsletters,
The
Eagle Eye.
