Adventures in Volcanoes

 
 





Introduction:

· You are a Volcanologist on a mission to learn about volcanoes.  You will join a crew to discover what a volcano is and how it forms.  You will also name the different types of volcanoes. 

Task:

· Your job is to collect information about volcanoes.  Your crew of Volcanologists will work as a team to collect this scientific information.  Once all your information is gathered, you will present it to the Head Volcanologist (your teacher). 

Process:

1. The Head Volcanologist (teacher) will assign you to a crew,  give you instructions, and a Data Collection Sheet. (Note: Teachers click HERE to print the Data Collection Sheet.)
2.  Design a crew badge. 
3.  Draw and label the parts of a volcano. 
4.  Now you are ready to begin your research. 
5.  Click on the pictures below to find answers to your questions. 
 
 

Evaluation:

· Your group will receive a grade based on your Data Collection Sheet and other activities.  You will receive an individual grade on how well you participated in your group.  Have Fun!
