Introduction
You and your friends are
posing as journalists scheduled to take a World Surfari to Egypt, Germany,
Italy, Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines. You will be discovering
interesting and exciting facts about these countries.
Task:
Your assignment will be
to complete the tasks for this quest and turn them into your editor/teacher.
Your assigned group will investigate and research selected countries on
the Internet. Team work will be very important throughout this quest.

Process:
You will be assigned to
a group. Your group will be given a journal of tasks from your Editor.
You will work as a group to find answers for each page.
Task #1:
Complete Task #1 to learn
about countries, capitals, languages, and currency. You are to locate
this information by clicking on each picture below:

Task #2
Complete Task #2 to translate
English words and phrases into other languages. Fill in the table by following
the directions given on Task #2. You are to locate the information by clicking
on the picture below.

Task #3
Complete Task #3 to find
the distance between where you live and the capital cities that you visited
in Task #1. Use the information from Task #1 to write the capital
cities of the countries you are visiting. You are to locate the information
by clicking on the picture below.

Task #4
Complete Task #4
to learn some things about each country. Choose one of the six countries
and locate the information by clicking on the picture below.

Task #5
Complete Task #5 to
find out what time it is right now in the capital cities that you have
explored. First copy the capital cities from Task #1, then click here.
Evaluation
The web quest will
be evaluated on completion of task and group journal information.
Conclusion
Students will be able
to utilize internet resources to learn about the cultures of six different
countries.
